AgTraderTalk is a full service Introducing Broker of R.J. O’Brien.  We handle commercial and farmer accounts across the Midwest.  In addition, our commentary and research has been a proven resource for many in the commodity industry with subscription clients on every continent.  Our on the ground information is what sets us apart with focus on grain spreads, basis as well as fundamental analysis.

Warren, IL:

Garrett Toay has been in the commercial grain industry since 2001. The owner of Toay Commodity Futures Group since 2004, Garrett handles commercial accounts across the corn belt. He has been a contributor to Bloomberg, the Iowa Farmer Today and Barchart’s Grain Professional newsletter. He also used to report market news for AM-640 WOI out of Ames, IA. He has also been quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle. A 2000 graduate of Iowa State University, Garrett has presented for conferences from New York to Brazil. He relocated back to NW IL to the family farm in 2018 with his wife, Bridget, their son Augie, their daughter Juniper and their basset hound, Rosie and yellow lab, Moose.

Cody Wolf joined AgTraderTalk in October of 2019 as a Market Analyst. Cody has a production ag background from working on the family farm where they grain farm and milk Holstein dairy cows in Southern Wisconsin. He is still involved today. He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Ag Business along with an emphasis in Commodities and Price Analysis in the spring of 2019. He currently resides in Monroe, WI.

Tony McDonald joined AgTraderTalk as a Contributing Editor in April 2011. He grew up working on a family farm in west central Iowa where he is still involved in the operation. Tony graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College in 2008 with a degree in BioRenewable Fuels Technology and spent that summer in Brazil, learning about South American agriculture. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2010 with a degree in Agricultural Business. He has been a licensed crop insurance agent since November 2011 and a licensed commodity broker since February 2012. Tony currently lives in Scranton, IA with his Burmese Mountain dog, Henry.

Watseka, IL

Merrill Crowley joined AgTraderTalk in 2019.  He graduated SIU with a degree in ag economics.  Spent 2 years in the 1980’s working for a crop service out of Lafayette, IN sampling 2 acre grids for precision fertility in IN, IL, OH, NY, KY, FL.  NY, KY, and FL were for thoroughbred horse farms.  10 years as a grain elevator branch manager.  He has been trading since Feb 1997.  I am a self taught technical analyst who keeps an eye on fundamentals working to provide my clients with updated tradable information.  He’s married to his lovely wife Pam and they have 4 children – Heather, Ashlee, Elizabeth, and Ben.  Five grandchildren Morgan, Tanner, Hanna, Lilly, and Lennon and on Great Grandson Avyon. He is a regular guest speaker on WILL and the CIFN Midday Update.

Memphis, TN

Murray Stucker joined AgTraderTalk in May 2022 as an energy sector trader and hedger.  He is involved in retail margin hedging for commercial fuel distributors and convenience store chain owners.  Located primarily in the southeastern US, he has worked in the energy sector since 2008.  Previously with two other R.J. O’Brien introducing brokers before joining AgTraderTalk.  His office is in Memphis, TN where he lives with his wife Ellen.
