Garrett Toay has been in the commercial grain industry since 2001. The owner of Toay Commodity Futures Group since 2004, Garrett handles commercial accounts across the corn belt. He has been a contributor to Bloomberg, the Iowa Farmer Today and Barchart’s Grain Professional newsletter. He also used to report market news for AM-640 WOI out of Ames, IA. He has also been quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle. A 2000 graduate of Iowa State University, Garrett has presented for conferences from New York to Brazil. He currently resides in West Des Moines, IA with his wife, Bridget, their son Augie, their daughter Juniper and their yellow lab, Yogi.

Tony McDonald joined AgTraderTalk as a Contributing Editor in April 2011. He grew up working on a family farm in west central Iowa where he is still involved in the operation. Tony graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College in 2008 with a degree in BioRenewable Fuels Technology and spent that summer in Brazil, learning about South American agriculture. He graduated from Iowa State University in 2010 with a degree in Agricultural Business. He has been a licensed crop insurance agent since November 2011 and a licensed commodity broker since February 2012. Tony currently lives in Des Moines, IA.

Daniel Rittgers joined AgTraderTalk in November 2017. He got his start in agriculture growing up in dairy country in upstate NY and central PA, spending his summers working there on dairy farms and in Iowa detasseling corn. In 2013 he spent six months working in a directive role for an agroforestry company in the Peruvian Amazon where he learned about Latin American and international agriculture. Daniel also worked for the Department of Economics in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Iowa State University as an undergrad research assistant. In December 2016 he graduated Cum Laude with his B.S. Agricultural Business, International Agriculture, and Spanish Language and Cultures. Daniel enjoys gardening and wood working in his spare time.
